'Hamilton' Star Miguel Cervantes Says His Final Goodbye To Late Daughter, 3

Hamilton star Miguel Cervantes, who took over the titular role in the hit Broadway musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda, recently had to say goodbye to his 3-year-old daughter Adelaide after her lifelong fight with epilepsy.

Adelaide passed away on October 12th.

Cervantes' wife Kelly posted this photo of Adelaide's room alongside the following caption: "The machines are off. Her bed is empty. The quiet is deafening. Miss Adelaide Grace left us early Saturday morning."

She continued: "She went peacefully in my arms and surrounded by love. Finally, she is free from pain, reactions and seizures but leaves our hearts shattered."

"We love you so much Adelaideybug and forever after."

The couple spoke at her Celebration of Life services, saying, "To all of Adelaide’s army, to all who touched her and comforted her and tried to save her, you will always be a part of our family."

“I think she’s dancing and smiling right now,” Cervantes said.

In an Instagram post after the Celebration of Life, Cervantes said his family will "begin to move forward with filled hearts."

"The room felt packed with love."

Kelly took to her blog to express her grief.

"I’m giving myself a pass this week and acknowledging that there is nothing I can say on this page that is going to make any of this better," she wrote.

"I know in time I may feel a sense of conflicting relief but right now it’s just a gaping hole of grief."

"No amount of flowers, food, alcohol or words can fill it and to be entirely honest, right now I don’t want them to.”

Last night, Cervantes took the stage for the first time since Adelaide's passing.

"The first time I saw @hamiltonmusical was September 2015 with Miguel by my side and the original Broadway company on the stage. Adelaide was heavy in my belly as I squished into the narrow seats at the Richard Rodgers Theater 8 months pregnant," his wife wrote on her Instagram.

"Tonight, I watch my husband retake the stage, life imitating art imitating life, and Adelaide is still with us but now resting heavy in our hearts," she continued.

She concluded, "I am so proud of you, @mig.cervantes. I’ll be standing by your side, taking this one inchstone at a time."

Our thoughts are with the entire Cervantes family at this time.
