Mom Shares Hilarious Story Of Catching A 'Ghost Baby' In Her Son's Crib

I am one of those people who cannot, under any circumstances, watch scary movies. Little did I know that being a parent would force me to confront things like ghosts and monsters in my son's room.

One mom's scary, but also hilarious, post about a "ghost baby" has gone viral and I'm so glad I'm not the only mom out there who has been freaked out like this.

If there's one thing I was not prepared for as a parent, it's how scary the nights can be.

I don't mean scary in the stressful, sleep-deprived sense, either (although those things are also true).

I mean scary, in the sense that being so sleep-deprived causes you to hallucinate about things like demon babies or phantom cries.

To add to the creepiness, most parents these days have invested in a video baby monitor.

Honestly, I don't know how parents survived the nights before these things were invented. They are life-savers, but they definitely have their drawbacks too.

Thanks to movies like "Paranormal Activity" watching my son sleep on the baby monitor brought back terrifying memories of those movies.

Even though he looked adorable in his crib, I couldn't help but think he was going to start floating at any minute. I blame the creepy night vision optics.

One mom recently took to Facebook to share her own spooky experience with a video baby monitor.

Maritza Cibuls was watching her son on the baby monitor when she thought she spotted a ghost baby on the camera.

Maritza shared a screenshot from the video monitor.

It definitely looks like there is a ghost baby snuggled up next to her son. Ahhhh!

The mom was understandably freaked out.

"I was so freaked out, I barely slept. I even tried creeping in there with a flashlight while my son was sleeping," she said in her Facebook post.

However, it turns out that this story was just a hilarious misunderstanding.

"Well, this morning I go to investigate a bit further. It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets," she said.

The "ghost baby" was actually just the stock photo from the mattress label underneath. LOL!

Maritza's post and story have gone viral with over 300,000 Facebook shares.

Many moms online related to this hilarious "ghost story".

Honestly, if it had been me, I don't know if I would have been able to laugh about it, so good for Maritza!
