Lori Loughlin May Not Go To Trial For Her Involvement In The College Admissions Scandal

According to TMZ, actress Lori Loughlin, best known for her role as Aunt Becky in Full House and the sequel series Fuller House, may have the opportunity to not go to trial for her involvement in the College Admissions Scandal.

Lori has so far pled not guilty to charges that she paid a $500k bribe in order to get her daughters accepted to university.

The bribe was allegedly to ensure that her daughters would be designated as recruits for the crew team at USC despite not participating in crew.

Fellow actress Felicity Huffman was also arrested for paying a $15k bribe to improve her daughter's SAT score.

Huffman, however, pled guilty to the charges and avoided trail, getting a very lenient sentence of 14 days, which she is currently serving.

TMZ is now reporting that there could be a plea bargain on the table for Loughlin.

Due to the precedent set by Huffman's short sentence based off the idea that no loss was suffered as a result of her bribery, prosecutors are apparently worried that Loughlin may also receive an embarrassingly short sentence.

Based on her charges, Loughlin could face a maximum of 40 years in prison.

TMZ's sources say that the U.S. Attorney is open to plea discussions in order to avoid a short sentence after a conviction in trial.

While the monetary amount for Loughlin's alleged bribe was bigger, less people were affected.

The next court date for Loughlin's case isn't until January of 2020, so there's a lot of time for new developments in this story.
