Meghan Markle might be feeling some royal regret.
The Duchess just revealed the shocking news that her friends warned her not to marry Prince Harry.

For Meghan Markle, royal life has been anything but easy.

This past summer alone, the Duchess's character has been put into question countless times by select outlets of the British media.
For example, when the new mom refused to be photographed while watching Serena Williams at Wimbledon, she was classified as being a "nightmare."
The British media also came for the former actress since she had worn jeans to the event.
The attack was unwarranted since Meghan wasn't at the event in a "royal capacity," nor was she sitting in the royal box.
The media also tried to make the former actress out to be a diva since she, Prince Harry, and baby Archie took a private jet for their summer vacation to Nice, France.
After much criticism, Elton John had to step in by explaining that it was his private jet that he loaned to the couple.
He even explained that the private plane was carbon-neutral since the couple were also criticized for not caring about the environment.
In fact, things have gotten so out of hand that Harry and Meghan are suing the British media.

Harry made that surprising announcement on October 1, in addition to revealing the stressful toll the media's bullying has done to his wife.
He wrote: "Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences."

"A ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.
He continued: "There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to."

He went on to say that he "cannot begin to describe how painful it has been."
He then provided details on the British media outlets they were planning to sue.
This included News UK ("The Sun") and MGN, who formerly owned "The Mirror."
Both publications allegedly hacked into royal voicemail messages.
They also planned to take action against the "Mail on Sunday" for publishing the private letter Meghan had written for her father, Thomas Markle.

In it, she described how disappointed she was that her father was lying and saying bad things about Harry to the tabloids.
Now, as part of the ITV documentary, "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey," Meghan has opened up more than ever about the difficulties of royal life.

She even revealed that her British friend warned her not to marry Prince Harry.
The friend said: "I'm sure he's great, but you shouldn't do it."

The reason why? "Because the British tabloids will destroy your life."
When Meghan heard this from her friend, she said that she was very naive since she's American and tabloids don't really exist there.

She told her friend: "What are you talking about? That doesn’t make any sense. I’m not in tabloids. I didn’t get it. So it’s been, yeah, it’s been complicated.”
Meghan dropped another emotional bombshell by revealing that no one ever really asks if she's okay.

She said:
“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant...you’re really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging."
"Thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m okay. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Thankfully, lots of good came out of her brave vulnerability as soon, #WeLoveYouMeghan was trending on Twitter.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely that she's received much support from Harry's family.
That's because, during a separate interview for the same documentary, Harry revealed that he isn't as close as he used to be with his brother, Prince William.
