Hey guys, it's about to get uncomfortable in here! So get ready for it.
Dane Cook stopped by Jimmy Fallon to chat about he and his 20-year-old girlfriend, and wouldn't you know it...it was kinda weird!
And an actor. He starred in such hits as Good Luck Chuck, My Best Friend's Girl, and Employee of the Month.
Nah, I'll stop ragging on him for a second. He was also in Stuck on You!
Sorry. Now I'll stop.
So, there's two important things to know here:
1: Kelsi and Dane started dating in April 2017. Kelsi was 18. Dane was...[checks notes] 45!
2: Dane talks about how much he loves her constantly, and calls her his best friend. A lot.
I mean, was she legal at the time? Yes. Was she still a full-blown teenager? Yes.
Was she a teenager for the first half of their relationship? Also yes.
But does he adore her? Yeah.
He dropped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to chat about aging, headshots, and his girlfriend.
He really laid on thick how old he is now, which Jimmy seemed to love.
"That thing will happen to me sometimes, where I'll wake up in the morning, and I'm excited and I'm ready, but my face is like, 'Hey, I'm gonna sleep for like another hour.'"
I mean, he's 47, he has a young, beautiful girlfriend, and he's talking about aging.
You do the math on that one, because I don't want to. Thank you for understanding.
So, Dane and Jimmy got onto the topic of love.
"I love her. I'm in love. It's not funny, but I'm in love," he said. "The thing about love is that it's not good for comedy."
"You know, when you say 'Ah, I just have a great, compassionate relationship, and we have communication.'"
I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but...good for you, Dane Cook. Good for you.
"Where people get a bit persnickety, sometimes, with the relationship is: I'm 47, she's 20."
There was a second of silence that was only broken by Jimmy saying a simple, "Oh."
"Thank you, that was the best laugh of approval I've ever heard," he said to the audience, and then pulled that face you're looking at right now.
That broke the tension, though. And Jimmy loved it.
"Here's the the thing about it, and I'm just gonna say this, I know that she's back stage and stuff — I look at her, and she's the kindest, sweetest, I love her..."
Dane totally had this joke ready to go. I will show my proof in a minute. Anyway, here we go:
"And you know what, I think to myself every once in a while, 'Man, do I even deserve this kind of girl?'"
"And then, once in a while, I'll say to myself, 'You know what, where have you been all my life?'
And then I realize, she wasn't alive for the first 28 years of it."
Dane Cook, you are a joke repeater!
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dane made the exact same joke.
"And sometimes I actually find myself saying, ‘Where has she been all my life?’ and then I realize she wasn’t alive for the first 26 years of it."
Regardless, they actually seem pretty happy together.
You can watch their whole interview here, including that part with the sex jokes that I was just not going to summarize. We're trying to keep it PG here, folks.
