13+ Celebs Who Have Proven That Breastfeeding Isn't Easy

Breastfeeding may be a great way for new moms to bond with their babies, but that doesn't mean that it's easy.

There are certain things that can go wrong, like it being too painful or there not being enough milk.

Bottom line: not all of us can make breastfeeding look as glamourous as Giselle.

This includes these 13+ celebs who have proven that breastfeeding isn't easy.

Amanda Seyfried

The actress may be a pro at breastfeeding now, but back when her daughter was born, Seyfried wanted to give up on it within five days.

“It was a searing pain and I couldn’t get a good latch,” she explained while on Dr. Berlin's Informed Pregnancy Podcast.

Kristin Cavallari

The reality star and designer hated breastfeeding so much, she said that she "was a slave to breastfeeding."

She eventually moved on to goat formula...

Chrissy Teigen

The model always keeps it refreshingly real on social media, so it's no surprise that she's been super candid about the struggles of breastfeeding.

This includes the time she spilled her breastmilk on the floor (she used a turkey baster to try and save it, lol).

Kristen Bell

The actress and mom of two found the overall concept of breastfeeding a little weird.

“It is a little bit strange to go from an autonomous woman to all of a sudden being a food truck, ’cause that’s essentially what you are,” Bell said on an episode of her web series, Momsplaining.

Ali Wong

The comedian discovered the challenges of having a second child while trying to breastfeed your newborn baby.

"When the first child met the second child and tried to destroy her head while I was breastfeeding and I realized the biggest hazard to my newborn baby was my toddler," she hilariously captioned the throwback pic.

Jessica Alba

As a working mom who runs her own company, Jessica Alba has always been super honest about the struggles of breastfeeding.

"Went into my @honest office today for a board meeting, although I’m still technically on mat leave. Not gonna lie, it’s impossible for me to completely unplug from work ...and it felt nice being back -even though it was just a half day. Baby boy came to visit/eat at lunch. Felt very productive today. #workingmom #entrepreneurlife #breastfeedingmama," she captioned the pic.

Amy Schumer

"Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night!" the new mom captioned this image.

With it, she was clapping back at all of the people who shamed the comedian for going back to work two weeks after giving birth to her son.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff lasted six months before she was done breastfeeding her youngest child, Banks.

In a super honest Instagram post, she revealed the reasons why she was throwing in the towel.

For instance, she wrote, "you are having your damn nipples tugged at by an aggressive machine that makes an annoying sound."

Padma Lakshmi

The Top Chef host knows it best: being a mom means multitasking whenever you can.

"Multi-tasking: level 100. Cheers to all of the people helping working mothers get it done," she captioned the inspiring pic.

Khloé Kardashian

Sadly, breastfeeding baby True hurt the Kardashian too much.

On Twitter, Khloé wrote that she was also not producing much milk due to stress (she found out her baby daddy had cheated at the time...).

"I tried and I just couldn’t give her enough. So I had to go to formula."

Jessica Biel

For Jessica Biel, breastfeeding her son, Silas, who she had with husband Justin Timberlake, was harder than normal.

In an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, she shared that a big part of this was because she wasn't producing enough milk.

"I had a very hard time breastfeeding and getting good amounts of quality fatty milk. For whatever reason, it was just harder for me."

Whitney Port

The Hills: New Beginnings star has her own YouTube series called I Love My Baby, But…, which captures all the highs and lows of motherhood.

In one episode, Port detailed how breastfeeding was so painful that she even began dreading it. Eventually, she just stopped doing it.

Pink

Pink brought up a very real and relatable struggle when it came to breastfeeding: not being able to drink at certain times.

"When you're almost done pumping and you know what's next," she captioned this hilarious shot.

Mila Kunis

Breastfeeding, in general, wasn't difficult for the Bad Moms actress; the tough part came from people judging her in public.

It took both her and hubbie, Ashton Kutcher, aback.

"People actually looked at us in a shameful [way], and we were like, ‘Oh my God,’ because it’s so not a sexual act," she said, adding, “If it’s not for you, don’t look.”

Adele

When it comes to being real about breastfeeding not being easy, Adele has never been afraid to speak her mind.

While at her concert at the O2 Arena in London, she went off:

"It's [expletive] ridiculous, and all those people who put pressure on us, you can go [expletive] yourselves, alright? Because it's hard. Some of us can't do it. I managed about nine weeks with my boobs."
