The universe is so beloved, so the natural thing to do is to make it bigger!
At Disney's D23 Expo, Matt Selman, who is executive producer, spoke about what might be in store for the show.

He wants to explore the world more and look at what other citizens of Springfield are up to.
“I think Disney would be supportive of anything we wanted to do, maybe a crazy limited series with a side character or a movie that we surprised you with,"

"They’ve been really creatively supportive and this is going to afford so many new ways to do the show than just the traditional format,” he said.
In the meantime, you can look forward to the 31st season.

It premieres on September 29th on Fox.
