13+ Stunning Pieces Of 3D Street Art Done By Odeith

This is expertly done, and if you're into street art, you'll surely appreciate the work he's put in here. But Odeith's work goes way beyond awesome tags, as we're about to see.

An adorable trash panda, seated atop an impressively 3D-looking abstract piece? Why not! Odeith's work shows a fascination with the animal kingdom, from the cute to the creepy-crawly.

Perhaps the most impressive part of his art is the uncanny way it appears to be three-dimensional, even though it's all painted along flat planes. Art like this requires careful consideration of viewing angles.

The effect would be diminished somewhat if you stood to the side of this piece. It's hard to imagine how much pre-planning would be necessary to make something that looks this perfect.

A lot of street art tends to be abstract, even sloppy, due to the large canvas that a wall can provide. But Odeith's work is often hyper-realistic. Just look at the convincing reflection on the pail.

According to his site, Odeith has been doing his thing since the 1980s and is recognized as "one of the pioneers of anamorphic 3D graffiti." When Odeith works with oddly-angled walls, his pieces really pop.

"Whether one likes them or not, insects are incredible creatures," his site says. "Odeith gives them a nod in his own playful way, through his larger-than-life urban murals of realistically painted insects."

Looking at the top half of this image, it's easy to imagine a real aquarium with a real gator in it. But when you look at the shadows on the bottom half, things get super weird.

I had to include another image of this gator (or is it a crocodile?). The animal is the main visual attraction, but a look at the before and after shows how much work went into the surrounding area.

It looks almost like a still from a summer blockbuster movie (no wonder the guy in the bottom right is sad). If not for a glimpse of the real world in the top right, it might be difficult to identify this as a painting.

Odeith's ability to draw anatomically-accurate animals, both big and small, is truly impressive. Even when you think you know what an animal looks like, it can still be tough to draw convincingly.

It's hard to imagine how long one of these pieces must take, especially considering the amount of pre-planning that would be necessary when he's painting one piece on different planes.

"I was always fascinated with these little creatures because of the colors [and] shapes," writes Odeith on his site. "I think it's funny to paint them on a bigger size."

Seriously, look at this pic, from this angle, and try to convince yourself you'd recognize it as a painting. Me? I'd see a person-sized spider and probably have a heart attack.

"By magnifying them and placing them front and center in such a colorfully eye-popping way, Odeith's work reminds us that insects are an integral part of our lives," says a passage on his site.

Our world is full of walls, windowless buildings and boring flat planes. We can't expect talented artists to make all of these surfaces visually interesting, but it sure is fun to see what they can look like in the hands of a talented artist.

I have no idea what's going on here. It looks like Odeith has found the perfect shape to create this massive beetle painting. But considering his wizardry with angles and shading, it's tough to say for sure.

Odeith is grounded in street art, but his work has been attracting attention for decades. Like other top-tier street artists, Odeith's work has gone from the streets and into galleries.

To close this off, I want to showcase my favorite piece of Odeith's. We've got a concrete block jutting out from a wall. What could someone do with this kind of canvas.

I love the fact that he painted this as a ruined bus, rather than a brand-new one. It allows him to play with light and angles, showing off dents and the vehicle's interior.
