Miley Cyrus Spotted Kissing Kaitlynn Carter After Announcing Split From Liam Hemsworth

It wasn't meant to be at that point, though, and they called off the engagement the following year. The two were photographed in a few compromising situations, leading to a lot of speculation about their relationship and Miley's sexuality.

Miley talked about being genderfluid and pansexual to Time, saying, "Once I understood my gender more, which was unassigned, then I understood my sexuality more. I was like, “Oh — that’s why I don’t feel straight and I don’t feel gay. It’s because I’m not.”

Liam shared lots of photographs of the couple on his Instagram page, usually referring to Miley as his "angel." No, it's fine, I'm not crying, I just need to take an unrelated break for five to ten minutes.

In classic Miley and Liam fashion, it was a low-key event, with the public only really finding out about it through Instagram stories.

In an interview with Elle Miley said, "My relationship is unique. And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it. I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a [expletive] apron cooking dinner?"

"People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still [expletive] good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word," she said.

Miley is currently on a FOMO inducing vacation in Italy and, like any of us, her Instagram feed is flooded with pictures. Eagle-eyed fans, however, noticed that Miley wasn't wearing her wedding band in the shots she was posting.

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers," the statement read.

Miley shared a few nature selfies, along with a caption about not fighting evolution, saying that "change is inevitable."

The timing certainly seemed suspicious, but some people thought Miley was just using the sudden media attention on her social media to promote a cause that she cares about.

If Kaitlynn's name sounds familiar to you, it might be because she was just recently in the headlines for ending her marriage to Brody Jenner — although it turns out that despite having a wedding, Kaitlynn and Brody were not legally married.

Including this one, captioned, "Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby." It appeared at first like there wasn't any bad blood between Kaitlynn and Brody, as he commented on the picture saying, "Hot girl summer."

When a friend commented on his Instagram post saying they should round the scandal out by posting a picture of them making out, Brody joked that there would soon be pictures of himself and Liam holding hands on the beach.

In response to Brody's joke, she said, "Go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer," which may have been another light-hearted joke, but given the drama surrounding this situation probably wasn't.

While some people have been brokenhearted about this longtime couple's breakup, others are delighted by all the drama. To be fair, it is a pretty scandalous event, no matter whose team you're on.

Liam hasn't publicly commented on the scandal, although when asked about the separation he did tell The Daily Mail, "You don't understand what it's like."

We all knew that Hot Girl Summer would have some casualties, but we never expected this.

Miley and Nick's relationship was brought back to the media's attention when in the Jonas Brothers' documentary Chasing Happiness, Kevin said, "That changed girls for Nick forever," about meeting Miley. "I think that kid’s head exploded."

Of course, fellow queer singer Halsey was there to shut down that line of thought right away.

Whatever happened between Miley and Liam, it looks like all of Hollywood might end up involved in this one! This break up might be the most ambitious crossover since Avengers: Endgame, and it'll still have Chris Hemsworth in it.

Of course, it's easy to be unbothered surrounded by models on a yacht off the coast of Italy. We can only hope Liam gets to enjoy his own Hot Girl Summer too.
