'The Nightmare Before Christmas' Cereal Is Coming Just In Time For Halloween

People like to argue about whether or not The Nightmare Before Christmas counts as a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie, but why can't it be both?

I mean, how many holiday movies can you rightfully watch twice a year?

But if you force me to choose, I'll usually watch it at Halloween. Christmas has enough movies and if you ignore general horror movies, then there aren't as many Halloween-specific options.

Plus, while Sandy Claws may be in the movie, Oogie Boogie is Halloween through and through.

He somehow manages to be the most scary character in a movie full of Halloween monsters. (And the bug-based body still makes me itchy just thinking about it.)

Since novelty cereals are apparently A Thing now, it makes sense to choose him for a Halloween-themed option.

Spirit Halloween

Firstly, the packaging is adorable and the bright green cereal totally suits the holiday, but I have concerns.

If you recognize the manufacturer's name, it's probably from their more famous novelty toys.

Funko Pop figures are ultra-collectable and ultra-polarizing. You either find them adorable or creepy. Or adorably-creepy, I suppose, since that's where I fall. (I have 7... so far.)

In fact, each box of Oogie Boogie cereal comes with a glow-in-the-dark Pocket Pop of the character.

Spirit Halloween

Still, you'd be forgiven for questioning the edibility of a cereal made by a vinyl figurine company. Especially one described as "multigrain flavored."

I suppose you're not really meant to eat these limited time novelty cereals.

You're meant to leave them in their packaging and hope that in 10 years you can make a few dollars of profit on eBay.

Villain-themed cereals seem to be something Funko is into, because they've also announced an Ursula edition.

Spirit Halloween

Both cereals are going to be sold exclusively at Spencer's and Spirit Halloween stores beginning September 11.
