Mom's Experiment To Get Her Family To Pick Up Their Trash Hilariously Fails

Moms, are you sick and tired of constantly picking up after your kids and husband?

Miranda Crimbring, a busy mom of three, was and decided to do something about it. She set up an experiment for her family to see if they would finally lend a helping hand, and then shared the hilarious results on Facebook.

Let's just say this experiment didn't exactly go as planned.

Here is a simple truth of life: No one enjoys cleaning.

Okay, okay. I know some people enjoy cleaning but for the most part, a lot of people would rather sit on the couch and binge Netflix than dust and scrub. I know because I am one of those people.

Even though, no one likes cleaning, it seems that the bulk of housework still lands on moms' plates.

I don't know why this is, but families need to step up their games and help their moms out. Moms are busy enough! They don't need to be cleaning up after everyone all the time, too.

To prove a point, one mom decided to conduct a little experiment with her family.

Miranda Crimbring placed a piece of paper on the floor with a five-dollar bill underneath.

She then waited to see how long it would take for someone in her house to pick up the garbage and throw it away.

Whoever threw away the trash would get to keep the money as a reward.

Pretty genius, right?

Well, lots of other people thought so, too!

Since posting her idea on Facebook, Miranda's picture has received nearly 300,000 shares.

People were commenting that they would gladly come over and help Miranda clean.

Miranda also posted updates.

This photo was taken nearly three days after Miranda put the paper on the floor and NO ONE in her house had picked it up yet, despite multiple people using the bathroom.

She even posted a picture of her kids brushing their teeth, with the paper STILL on the ground.

Little do those kids know that underneath that garbage is a sweet, sweet five-dollar bill waiting for them. Oh, well. Their loss.

Finally, Miranda's daughter accidentally moved the paper and noticed the money.

However, she still didn't throw the garbage away and moved the paper to the counter. Sigh.

Well, at least now the kids will know to pay attention to the garbage on the ground and maybe even pick it up once in a while.

People are even doing this challenge with their own families now.

"Here we go!!! Ten bucks says the cat does something with it first. Thanks Miranda for the inspiration," said Facebook user Jullia Chadwell.

Honestly, this is such a brilliant idea and a great way to show your family that moms shouldn't be the only ones cleaning. I think families across the country are in for a wake-up call thanks to this post.
