Britney Spears Breaks Her Silence Following Explosive Documentary

Britney Spears has broken her silence following the explosive New York Times documentary highlighting the songstress' scrutiny.

While the battles with her father's conservatorship over her have been made public, the new documentary, titled Framing Britney Spears, offers fans a new perspective on life for the 39-year-old.

Now, the popstar is speaking out.

As you may have heard, the "New York Times" documentary, *Framing Britney Spears*, debuted on Hulu and FX this past weekend.

The documentary focuses on Britney's conservatorship and the increasingly popular #FreeBritney movement on social media.

In addition to Britney's legal battles, the documentary exposes a career filled with disrespect.

The film highlights the public humiliation inflicted on Brintey by her ex, Justin Timberlake. In case you need a quick refresh, Britney and Justin dated for three years (from 1999 to 2002) and were nothing short of pop royalty.

The documentary follows two major moments after their split — Justin Timberlake's infamous "Cry Me A River" music video featuring a Britney lookalike, and the public questioning about his and Britney's sex life.

Social media has been filled with support for Britney, and reminders of the public humiliation she faced at the hands of the media.

Now, the 39-year-old is breaking her silence on Twitter for the first time since the documentary debuted.

Posting a video of her "Toxic" performance on New Years Eve three years ago, she wrote: "Can’t believe this performance of Toxic is from 3 years ago !!! I’ll always love being on stage .... but I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person ....."

She added: "I love simply enjoying the basics of every day life !!!"

Britney then followed up her tweet with a heartfelt sentiment, "Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives ."

She concluded: "Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens."

She always keeps it so classy!

We're rooting for you, Britney!
