From funky colors to wild shapes, people love to go all out with their nails. And, many nail stylists rack up followers on social media because of their fun and interesting work.

Recently, one TikTok nail technician went viral for her new nail trend known as the "snake tongue" manicure.

This extreme look created by nail artist Lara Solway has generated a lot of reactions online.

Extreme nail shapes are nothing new.

Over the years, coffin nails, ballerina nails, and mermaid tail nails are just a few of the unique shapes to have gone viral online.

For this design, the nails are cut right down the middle like a snake's tongue.

People can actually wear these acrylic nails with a large split down the middle — which look pretty gnarly, tbh.

The nail tech also adds some flair with snakeskin patterns on the nails, too.

Taking it up to the next level, she puts the snakeskin pattern on the outline of the "snake tongues" making this look absolutely insane.

Online, while many people praised the creativity, most said this look was not for them.

It definitely takes a lot of skill to pull off this design, but many people in the comments agreed that they would pass on getting this look themselves.

Many also pointed out another shape comparison.

A number of TikTok users joked that the nails reminded them of forks or Edward Scissorhands. Can't say they're wrong there!

This isn't the first time Lara has created next-level nail art.

Lara has over 250,000 followers on TikTok who watch her videos for her extreme nail designs. Many praised her for this bold black-and-white design which was featured in another video.

Who knows what she'll design next?
