Lamborghini Totaled 20 Minutes After Being Driven Off The Lot

We all have a dream car, don't we? I'd love to get to slip behind the wheel of a Ferrari one day just to feel the difference between the old clunker that's been carting my hide around town and a high-end, finely-tuned masterpiece of craftsmanship and engineering. I imagine it's much like the difference between taking off in a two-seat propeller plane and a jumbo jet.

In some ways, those super cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis should probably be in a class of their own, licensing-wise. They're so much more car than most of us are used to.

Nevertheless, you have to hand it to those who chase their dream down and realize it - and cry for those who have it taken away.

One person's dream came to an all-too-sudden stop recently with a crash in Britain.

As the West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit shared in a tweet, a tragedy occurred when a brand new Lamborghini was destroyed in a collision just 20 minutes after its new owner drove it off the lot.

A new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder like the one in the collision will set you back up to $266,000.

The RPU reported that the driver of the Lamborghini had experienced a "mechanical failure" and pulled off to the side of the road. While sitting there, a van collided with the supercar's rear end

Thankfully, it appears that the most serious damage in the collision was to the car.

The BBC reported that the van's driver had sustained a head injury in the crash, but it didn't seem to be a serious or life-threatening injury.
