Jennifer Lopez Sneakily Surprises A Nurse To Thank Her: 'We Are So Grateful'

One Jennifer Lopez fan just got the surprise of a lifetime!

The A-list celeb sneakily joined a video call to send her gratitude and appreciation to an essential worker, Cassidy Toben. The NYC nurse has been on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The heartwarming surprise call took place on Peacock’s The At-Home Variety Show. Trust us, the moment is too sweet to miss!

Over the past several weeks, more and more celebs have been sending their gratitude to essential workers.

These are the brave men and women who have been working on the frontlines of the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19)

Recently, some took part in the CBS special *United We Sing: A Grammy Tribute to the Unsung Heroes*.

The special, which was hosted by Harry Connick Jr. and his 24-year-old daughter, Georgia, showed celebs surprising essential workers with one-on-one video calls.

This included Oprah, Tim McGraw, and Sandra Bullock.

Even Brad Pitt surprised sanitation worker, Darnell Rudolph, with a video call.

"We so appreciate you being on the frontlines, what you've given and what you're doing to keep us safe and keep us moving forward," the actor said.

These aren't the only celebs giving back.

Jennifer Lopez has been raising money towards coronavirus relief efforts since the very start of the pandemic.

Back in April, she joined her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs for his online Dance-a-Thon coronavirus fundraiser.

Then, she helped raised $115 million in May for the Rise Up New York! event, hosted by Tina Fey.

She was joined by other A-list celebrities, such as from Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey.

Some celebs performed and some asked for donations to help relief and recovery efforts.

Jennifer has even had to make sacrifices due to the coronavirus.

It was recently announced that she and fiancé Alex Rodriguez postponed their summer wedding in Italy indefinitely.

"They have been struggling for weeks over this decision, but with no return to normalcy in the near future, the couple felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice," a source told E! News.

But in happier news, Jennifer recently took part in surprising a New York nurse named Cassidy Toben.

She's been an emergency room nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan for nine years.

Since the pandemic started, she's bravely been on the frontlines.

The surprise took place on Peacock’s *The At-Home Variety Show* with hosts, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.

“We are so grateful for everything that you do,” Lopez said to Toben after she sneakily joined the call.

“Thank you so much.”

The nurse was understandably freaking out.

She even told Jennifer that the last time she "went out and had any socialization" was for the Super Bowl.

This, of course, is where Lopez and Shakira performed during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“To think that that was only a few months ago and we were all celebrating something together as a country and now here we are,” Toben said

“But thank you for that because it’s really inspirational.”

But JLo wasn't going to take the spotlight off of Toben or any of the other essential healthcare workers.

She made sure to give Tobin the gratitude she deserves.

"And again, like, thinking about what you have to go through every day—I was listening to what you were saying as [was] I was sneakily waiting to say hello."

She continued:

"About, you know, you can't save everybody and how hard that must be and that kind of reality setting in and it just reminded me too of how difficult this time is and how challenging it's been."

J-Lo then called Toben and all the other frontline workers "heroic."

While Jennifer's concert was the last one Toben saw before the pandemic started, it will also be the first one she sees after it...

That's because Lopez invited Toben and her friends to her first concert once social distancing ends!

Kotb and Guthrie joked they wanted to crash the party, too, because, of course.

"Cassidy, we just invited ourselves!" Guthrie said.
