Alex Trebek Donates $500,000 To Help Build Shelter For Homeless Seniors

Alex Trebek is proving once again he is a total sweetheart by making a large donation to a major homeless shelter in Los Angeles.

Last year, Alex was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and has been open with his fans about his journey.

However, it's clear his illness has not dampened his spirit and his good intentions.

Alex Trebek has been keeping his loyal fans updated with his wellness journey since announcing his cancer in March 2019.

The 79-year-old has been fighting the good fight and even filmed Jeopardy! right up until the COVID-19 shutdown!

Alex has also said he wants "Jeopardy!" to be one of the first shows back to work once the lockdown is over.

Earlier this month, a rep for the game show host told fans, "Alex is looking forward to resuming production as soon as we are able to do so. He’s told us he wants to be one of the first shows back in production."

While "Jeopardy!" is still on pause, Alex has been putting his time and effort into his philanthropic passions.

It has been announced that Alex and his wife Jean Trebek will be donating $500,000 to the Hope of Valley Rescue Mission's shelters.

The founder told "TMZ" that this generous donation will fund a 50,000-square-foot facility which will be located in San Fernando Valley.

The shelter will soon have a wing named after the game show legend.

Alex also made a $100,000 donation to the same foundation earlier this year.

Wow. What an amazing gesture! Alex's kindness is so needed during these difficult times.

ALSO, can we just take a moment to appreciate Alex with a BEARD? Total ZADDY vibes. This is how you age when you're unproblematic!
