Man Uses Coffee Cup To Save Trapped Kittens

While most of us would never dream of a situation in which we could be parted from our morning coffee, one wonderful man found himself in a situation where his morning cuppa was able to save the lives of a family of kittens!

We all know that coffee saves lives on a daily basis.

As thousands of us crawl into chain coffee shops every day to give us that sweet elixir of productivity, it's safe to say we've all felt like coffee has saved our life at one point of another.

However, one man from Canada put his morning coffee to use in a way that managed to actually save lives!

Kendall Diwisch is an oil worker from Canada.

One morning mid-last week, Mr. Diwisch came across a trio of abandoned kittens while out inspecting wells near Tomahawk, Alberta.

It is a miracle that Mr. Diwisch came across the kittens in the thick snow, but thank goodness he did!

Diwisch shared footage of the rescue on his Facebook page.

In the footage, the kittens can be seen huddled together in the snow after having been seemingly abandoned.

As Diwisch got closer, he realized that the kitten's tails were frozen in the ice, preventing them from moving.

As he gets closer, the kittens can be heard to be crying out for help.

The kittens do not attack Diwisch, but repeatedly cry out as he attempts to free their tails from the ice. In his Facebook post, Diwisch wrote:

"So today I found these three fellows on one of the back roads near one of my wells. Most likely dropped off. Poor things were frozen into the ice so they had to have been there all night."

In a moment of inspiration, Diwisch heads to his truck to retrieve his coffee cup.

He then carefully pours out some of the beverage on the ice to melt it.

As the coffee melts the ice, the kittens — who can't be more than a several months old — begin to drink the coffee, causing Diwisch to laugh as he tries to get them to stop, and let the hot drink do its work.

Eventually, the ice melts enough and Diwisch is able to remove the kitten's tails, freeing them from their frozen nightmare.

Once they're freed, the heroic oil worker then gathers up the shivering kittens.

Once they're safely in his arms, Diwisch carries the kittens back to his van. In the Facebook post, he goes on to explain what happened to the kittens next and asks if there is anyone who would be willing to take the kittens in:

"Took them home fed and watered them they look to be healthy and friendly. If any friends are looking to have a new addition in their family, let us know as they will need homes. All three look to be males, and we also gave them dewormer."

The post quickly went viral.

Since having been uploaded, the post has received just under 5,000 shares and the video of the kittens' rescue has been viewed around 750, 000 times!

A lot of people commenting on the post couldn't believe that someone would be so heartless as to abandon three kittens in the middle of the snow, leaving them to die.

Diwisch has received swathes of praise for his actions across social media.

The comments on Diwisch's post were full of praise for his wonderful actions in saving the kittens, with people writing the likes of:

"Thank you so much for taking care of those helpless babies. How can someone dump them like that !? Nice to know that there are good people in the world to counteract evil."

"That is the saddest and happiest thing I've ever seen - you're their hero!"

"You are a national treasure and a genuine hero, sir. Thank you for saving these angels."

Diwisch has since posted a wonderful update about the kittens.

In an update to his initial post, Diwisch explained that the kittens are happy and healthy, and thanked everyone for their kind words:

"All three little rascals went to their new home today where they get to be together instead of separating them. All three are eating and drinking and very energetic. Thanks for everyone’s consideration and offering to take them very appreciated."

Hopefully, these kittens will have a better life going forward!

It is shocking that we live in a world where there are people who could commit such acts of cruelty; however, people like Mr. Diwisch go a long way to showing that it isn't all doom and gloom out there, even if it can seems like that sometimes.

I'm sure those three little kittens will have a wonderful life with the Trider family, and will never know cruelty like that again.
