Kobe Bryant’s 13-Year-Old Daughter Gianna Also Killed In Helicopter Crash

Legendary NBA star Kobe Bryant, 41, passed away in a tragic helicopter crash on January 26th, as first reported by TMZ.

It was initially reported that a helicopter carrying Bryant and at least 3 other passengers crashed in Calabasas on Sunday morning.

Despite emergency personnel’s arrival, there were no survivors from the crash. While the identity of the other passengers was initially unknown, it was reported that Kobe’s wife Vanessa was not on board.

It is now being reported that Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna was one of the other passengers in the helicopter.

Representatives for Bryant confirmed to TMZ that the pair were on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice at the time of the accident.

Gianna, also known as Gigi, was a rising basketball star of her own.

Gianna was an avid basketball lover and player, who played on an AAU team that her father coached for the past two years, according to USA Today. Kobe and his daughter were often spotted at NBA games together.

Kobe and Gianna are survived by Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, and his three other daughters, Natalia, Bianca, and Capri.

Natalia, the Bryant’s oldest child, is 17-years-old. Bianca Bryant is 3-years-old, while their youngest daughter, Capri, is only 7-months-old and was born in July of 2019.

Shaquille O'Neal shared an emotional post on his Instagram.

"There are no words to express the pain I’m going through now with this tragic and sad moment of losing my neice Gigi & my friend, my brother, my partner in winning championships, my dude and my homie. I love you and you will be missed. My condolences goes out to the Bryant family and the families of the other passengers on board. IM SICK RIGHT NOW !" he wrote.
