As you may have already heard, Dwayne Johnson's father, Rocky Johnson — the professional Canadian wrestler, passed away on January 15th.

Shortly after his death, Dwayne shared a video with a caption to honor his dad.
"I love you. You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world," he wrote.
"I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar. The boy you raised to always be proud of our cultures and proud of who and what I am."

Yesterday, still in the wake of receiving this heartbreaking news, Dwayne opened up in an emotional Instagram video, revealing the cause of death.
"Hard to express how deeply grateful I am for all your love, mana & support," he captioned the video. "Go hug your loved ones hard, while you still can."
"Hey everybody, I just wanted to stop in on this really blessed Sunday to say thank you so much," he began.

"Deep in my bones, in my constitution, in my wiring, in my heart, and in my mana for the outpouring of love and the support and the well-wishes and the condolences that you have sent me and my family," he continued.

"You have lifted my spirits," he added.
"As you know, I lost my old man a few days ago, I lost him just like that, didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him."

"I'd give anything right now to give him a big ol' hug and a big ol' kiss before he crossed over and just say thank you and I love you and I respect you."

"But such is life, as many of you know, based on the messages that you have shared with me, that many of you understand this pain when you lose a parent."
He then acknowledged his fan's curiosity over Rocky's sudden death.

"He had not been feeling well, had been battling a cold and infection," he revealed.
"And on Tuesday he had what's called a deep vein thrombosis, which is essentially a blood clot in the leg."

"It was a big ol' blood clot that broke free, traveled up his body, and went right to his lung, clotted his lung".
"He died very quickly from a massive heart attack, just like that."

He then explained that he has been having a tough time writing his father's eulogy that he will deliver at the funeral tomorrow.
"I've written a lot of speeches for myself over the years, but I have no idea where to start with this one," he admitted.

"I can also hear him now, 'Make sure you put me over in the speech, say good stuff about me'," he added.
