10+ Movie Fan Theories That Actually Came True

Yes, most of the time fan theories are completely and totally goofy. Most of the time they aren't right at all.

But then... Then you have the fan theory that actually comes true. The one that the fans get right.

These are the ones that made it to the finish line.

1. Peter Parker Was In 'Iron Man 2'

So there was this kid that almost got killed in Iron Man 2.

For the longest time, people thought it was Peter Parker and it turns out... they were right!

2. Superman was going to turn bad

DC

Remember that scene in Batman V Superman where Batman had a dream about Superman going bad?

Fans thought this was a secret proof of concept for an Injustice style movie. That's exactly what Zach Snyder was going for.

3. Deckard Is A Replicant

IMDb

For years sci-fi fans debated whether Deckard, the detective from Blade Runner, was a replicant.

However, Ridley Scott decided to confirm fan theories in 2000 when he came out and said: "yes, he is a replicant".

4. Jesus Was An Alien

Speaking of Ridley Scott, the movie Prometheus implied that these aliens called Engineers created humanity and were considered by some civilizations to be Gods.

And yes, that meant that in this world, Jesus Christ was an alien. Ridley Scott confirmed it.

5. The QCU is real

IMDb

For years fans suspected that all of Quentin Tarantino's movies were connected. Little did we know how right we were.

Not only is there one universe all connected... but two.

He said this about his universes:

IMDb

“There are actually two separate universes. There’s the realer than real universe, and all the characters inhabit that one. Then there’s this “movie” universe, so From Dusk Till Dawn and Kill Bill take place in this special movie universe. Basically, when the characters from Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction go to the movies, Kill Bill and From Dusk Till Dawn is what they go see.”

6. The Brothers In Harry Potter

WB

Remember that three brothers story at the beginning of The Deathly Hallows? Well fans thought that every brother was meant to represent a Harry Potter character.

The first brother was Voldemort. The second was Snape. And the final brother was Harry Potter himself. (Bonus: Dumbledore is death).

J.K. Rowling has confirmed this.

7. Stan Lee Is A Watcher

Marvel

Ever wonder why Stan Lee appears in every Marvel movie?

Well, for years fans thought it was because he's a Watcher, an ancient alien that watches over humanity.

This theory was confirmed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Kevin Feige supports the idea.

8. 'Robocop' Is A Christ Story

IMDb

Fans had theorized that Robocop (yes, that Robocop) was supposed to be an allegory for Jesus Christ for many years.

In 2010, director Paul Verhoeven finally confirmed their suspicions.

Verhoeven said:

IMDb

"The point of RoboCop, of course, is it is a Christ story. It is about a guy who gets crucified in the first 50 minutes, and then is resurrected in the next 50 minutes, and then is like the supercop of the world, but is also a Jesus figure as he walks over water at the end."

9. The Genie And The Market Guy Are The Same

Disney

No, this isn't the one about how Aladdin takes place in the future. That one hasn't been confirmed... yet.

Remember at the beginning of Aladdin, we see that guy at the market who is trying to sell us stuff?

Ever thought hey, maybe the market peddler is the Genie in disguise?

Disney

Ever noticed how he and the genie are both voiced by Robin Williams?

"That was the whole intention, originally," said director Ron Clements in 2015.

10. 'Spirited Away' Is Actually About The Sex Industry

IMDb

Before you call me a perv, know that Miyazaki himself has confirmed this.

Think about it: Chihiro is taken from her parents and is forced to work as a "yuna", which translates to "a woman who works with bathers" (aka a bathhouse prostitute).

11. Automobiles Took Over The World In 'Cars'

Pixar

The world of Cars isn't just a world that is ruled by cars. It is a world that was once ours until the machines rose up and took it from us.

By God, where's John Conner?

12. Anna and Elsa Are Related To Tarzan

Disney

Since Frozen 2 came out we know this fan theory isn't actually true, but for a while it was!

Jennifer Lee (one of the creators of Frozen) confirmed in an AMA that Anna and Elsa's parents shipwrecked.

They washed up on this deserted island where they had a boy and eventually, were tragically murdered by a jaguar.

Disney

Luckily, the boy was taken in by a mother gorilla who had just lost her baby as well.

13. The Fox 'Spider-Man' And The Fox X-Universe Were Supposed To Exist Together

Marvel

We have some early musings of the MCU here, as fans back in the far off time of the early 2000s suspected that the movies were supposed to collide.

And they were right!

Fox

None other than Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, confirmed that he was supposed to make an appearance in one of the Raimi Spider-Mans... It just never happened for some reason.

What a missed opportunity!

14. Why No Nightcrawler?

Fox

We were introduced to Alan Cuming's Nightcrawler in X2, and yet for some reason he didn't appear in X-Men 3: The Last Stand.

People wondered why they would get rid of such a cool character...

And a lot of people theorized that because of his peaceful nature, Nightcrawler had given up fighting before the events of 'X3'.

Fox

This fact was confirmed in the official video game, in which Nightcrawler did no fighting.

15. Professor X's Twin Brother

Fox

Remember in X-Men 3: The Last Stand when Jean Gray completely obliterated Professor X?

And yet, at the end of the movie, his voice is heard coming out of a hospital patient's mouth?

Although we couldn't see the person's face this fact was confirmed on the movie's DVD commentary.

Fox

Not only that but when he appeared in Logan he was in an identical body to the one he started out in.

16. Captain America Has At Least Met Peter Quill's Grandmother

Marvel

Laura Haddock plays a part in two different MCU movies: she's a woman who asks for Captain America's autograph in Captain America: The First Avenger.

And she also plays Peter Quill's mom in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2.

People started to wonder if these two characters were related and it turns out that yes! They were!

Marvel

James Gunn has confirmed that the woman who asked Cap for his autograph was, in fact, Peter's grandmother.

17. Which Stone Is In The Tesseract?

Marvel

At first, everyone believed that the Space Stone was in the Tesseract and Loki's Sceptre during the first Avengers movie, mostly because well, Nick Fury said it.

However, there was something wrong with that picture...

Loki's Scepter was used to control minds.

Marvel

So fans theorized that it wasn't just the Space Stone in that Sceptre, but the Mind Stone as well.

This was confirmed in Age Of Ultron, where the Mind Stone was used to create Vision.

18. Loki Wanted To Be On The Helicarrier

Marvel

There's a moment in Avengers where Loki smirks at Bruce Banner as he's being carried into the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

Some fans theorized he wanted to be on board to unleash the Hulk, and that's exactly what happened.

19. Where Does The Hulk Go?

Marvel

At the end of Age Of Ultron, the Hulk takes a Quinn jet and leaves to parts unknown.

Fans theorized that this was leading up to a "Planet Hulk" type storyline.

And if you've seen Thor: Ragnarok you know that it happened.

20. Where Is The Time Stone?

Marvel

Before Dr. Strange was released, only four Infinity Stones had been accounted for in the MCU so far.

This led fans to theorize that the Time Stone was going to make an appearance in the movie.

They were, of course, right

Marvel

Not only did the Time Stone appear inside the Eye of Agamotto, not only was it a big part of Dr. Strange's final battle with Dormammu, but it also played a pretty big part in Infinity War.

21. Fans Have A Big Theory About 'Fantastic 4'

Fox

In the months leading up to Fox's reboot of Fantastic 4 coming out, fans had a big theory about the movie: it wasn't going to work.

Before there was even a trailer out...

Superhero fans were already dismissing it.

Fox

All the promotional material looked too dark, the pictures of the actors looked wooden and frankly, everyone looked too young.

They were of course right, the movie was horrible and it bombed.
