One California elementary school teacher has come up with a pretty incredible way to get her grade two students feeling inspired, and it all has to do with Lizzo's chart-topping hit, "Truth Hurts."
But while many of us might feel empowered by the song's original lyrics, the subject matter is a bit too mature for elementary-aged students to relate to. So, their teacher made a few adjustments to give it a kid-friendly rewrite while retaining its inspiring tone.
According to NBC Bay Area, the educator took Lizzo's iconic song's lyrics and expertly reworked them in order to inspire her class of second grade students to do great.
The new PG lyrics encourage the children to be a good friend, share with others and of course, to do their homework (she's still a teacher, after all.)
Ms. Mallari's version continues:
I just took an E.L.A. test, turns out I'm 100% that smart
Even when I'm feelin' lazy. Yea, I got math problems, that's the student in me.
Buzz buzz then I solve them, that's the worker (bee) in me.
You wanna have a good friend who's committed, Help you with your homework, just a little.
You know I'll hold you down, because you got my back. And that's the sound of the yellow and black!
Let's be great 'cuz I know we are great. Let's hurry, we don't wanna be late. Choose a crate or a wobbly chair. Let's take turns so we know it is fair.
In this class you'll never catch us fighting. Time's up, we need to start our writing. Smart spots makes learning more exciting.
The educator takes center "stage" (or rather, a few desks pushed together) to put on the show. As she sings, her students join along, excitedly shouting out the revamped lyrics and throwing in some dance moves while they're at it.
Shared to the Pittsburg Unified School District's official Facebook page, the video has quickly gone viral, racking up over 750,000 views in just a few days.
The artist retweeted the video on Twitter and agreed that it is, indeed, she best thing she's watched all day.
On Friday's episode of Good Morning America, Lizzo went one step further and sent the class a touching video message in which she told the students that they are "100 percent the future."
"Once this came on, they started grooving to it," she told NBC Bay Area. "And I thought okay, they’re already loving it."

She revealed she teaches her class a brand new song every year to reflect their "classroom culture." Last year, students grooved along to a Drake rewrite.
As for her newfound fame, the teacher admitted, "I didn’t think I’d have that impact, we just try to make learning fun here. This wasn’t a show, this was us every day."
