We've learned so many things about Jason Momoa lately.
He's like an onion.
Just when you think you've uncovered all of the complex layers of his character — there's more.
We recently discovered that Jason looks amazing without a beard.

There was once a time when we thought his beard was part of his identity — a major contributor to his hotness.
But we were sorely wrong.
Because he shaved it off, and we're all still swooning over his every move.

Who woulda thought that Jason Momoa would be just as stunning without his trademark beard?
What a revelation.
We discovered Jason is a big fan of mother Earth — as we all should be.
In fact, the reason he shaved his beard in the first place, was to raise awareness to his new line of canned water.
"Plastics are killing our planet," he said. "I just wanted to bring awareness."
We also recently found out the story behind his eyebrow scar — and it was wild.

Back in 2008, Jason got into a bar fight that led to someone smashing an empty beer glass over his head, resulting in the scar we're all familiar with.
But now we can add another thing to the list of facts we know about Jason.

He's a huge fan of metal music.
Particularly, the band Slayer.
In 2018, Jason actually admitted that his inspiration behind his portrayal of "Aquaman" was metal music.

“Aquaman’s pretty metal. I know no-one thinks that, but Aquaman’s metal,” Jason said.
"I kind of build my characters off of metal songs," he went on.

"Conan [The Barbarian] was really heavy Pantera, I’d say Aquaman was probably mostly built out of Tool and [Metallica album] Kill ‘Em All. Ticks And Leeches, if I want to get specific. There’s a lot of Sabbath in there too.”
And at a recent Slayer and Anthrax show, Jason got to live out his childhood dreams and meet the band's members backstage.

Obviously, he documented the milestone event and posted it on Instagram.
It looked to be a long night of drinking, posing with electric guitars, and giving the middle finger.

The band members also took to Instagram to share photos from that night — and quite frankly, they seemed just as excited to meet Jason as he was to meet them.
"When #KhalDrogocomes to your show you immediately go into @gameofthronestalk," one of the band mates posted on Instagram.

So, there you have it. Jason's childhood dream finally came to life.

Not only did he get to meet his favorite metal band, but they actually like him.
I sense a lifelong friendship coming, here.
For someone so pretty, he sure does have surprisingly edgy taste in music.
