Meghan Markle Says Women Are 'Vilified' For Exploring Sexuality

In an earlier episode of the same podcast from October, Markle spoke about her brief role as a suitcase model on the game show, but ended up quitting in 2007 because she felt that she was being objectified and reduced to a "bimbo."

She spoke about her experiences on Deal or No Deal, discussing how she felt that her looks were the sole purpose of her appearances, and she was unable to have any substance beyond that.

"I was grateful for the job, but not about how it made me feel, which was not smart,” she said at the time. “By the way, I was surrounded by smart women … but that wasn’t the focus."

Social media users on Twitter pointed out that, after leaving her Deal or No Deal job, Markle had a brief appearance on the 90210 reboot, in which she was seen performing sexual acts on another character. Users felt that for her to leave a job over feeling objectified, only to take another job where her sole role was to be sexualized, was hypocritical on Markle's part.

"When you’re a performer, you take the gig," Goldberg said. "Sometimes, you’re in a Bozo suit, sometimes you got a big nose, and this is just the way it is."
